Garlic & Lemon Roasted Broccoli

When it comes to vegetables I have 2 rules:

Rule #1: Buy the freshest produce I can get my hands on

Rule #2: Keep it simple

There is nothing simpler then squeezing some fresh lemon over some fresh broccoli and roasting in the oven until the tips get nice and chard.  One of my favorite ways to prepare these and most other veggies for that matter.

This is what I used:

1- bunch of fresh broccoli (purchased from the local farmers market, my favorite place to shop)

2- lemons

Seasonings: black pepper and garlic salt

Step 1: Preheat oven to 400 degrees

Step 2: Clean and cut the stems off the broccoli leaving mostly just the “florets” letft

Step 3: Arrange on a baking sheet so that all the broccoli florets are face up

Step 4: Squeeze one lemon over the top of broccoli

Step 5: Place in oven and roast for 30-45 minutes or until the tops of the florets become “crispy”

Step 6: Take out of oven, squeeze the 2nd lemon over the broccoli and season w. some fresh cracked pepper and garlic salt
